I am beyond pleased to report that the response to our Park Cleanup has been wide and enthusiastic. We’ve gotten excited responses from tons of folks, both individuals and organizations. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic day of work, with many hands to keep things light. It’s also a great opportunity for neighbors to meet and share ideas for the future of the space.

One local entity has expressed interest in an ongoing cooperation and involvement with the area, an amazing idea that has eclipsed my own expectations. Stay tuned for more details on this in the future.

Right now, we’re continuing to coordinate with the Borough to arrange for the disposal of the dumped items, leaf waste, and branches/saplings to be cleared away. We’ve also identified that one large tree in the area is fully dead, and so we’ll need to arrange for its careful felling and removal before it becomes a larger hazard.

Signs will be going up around the block to help spread the word – keep an eye out for them, and if a sign has brought you here, welcome! Be sure to share the cleanup with your friends and neighbors.

With the wonderful weather we’ve been enjoying, activity is already returning to the Park. Children are shooting basketball at the makeshift hoop, and dog-walkers are back at it. It’s clear that everyone is ready for this space to spring back!
